ROYALTIES & COMMISSIONS

The new Quantum release contains the ability to pay commissions or royalties to an unlimited number of entities. If you have more than two entities that need to receive a % when specific items are sold we have added Royalties. The Royalties are setup in OE > OE Maintenance > Royalty Code Setup. In the Royalty Code the Vendor that is to receive the royalty is identified along with the rate that is setup in Commission Setup. The Royalty code is then associated either to a client or to an item. The entry in the client is on the Setup page. If it has been set here, all items for this client will assume this Royalty code unless otherwise defined in the item. The entry of the Royalty code at an item level is on Page 2 of Item Maintenance. Items from posted invoices will be included on the Royalty report. Royalties and commissions are the topic of one session at our April Client Conference.

Another new feature is that commission may be reduced for a specific order. This is set in the Misc tab of the PO in the Reduce Commission field. You simply enter the % of the regular commission by which this order needs to be reduced. The commission report will reflect the reduced commission with a line below indicating the commission reduction rate.

Marking Up Freight

The new release also contains the ability to mark up freight cost by a % to come up with the selling price of the freight. This is set at the individual Client level. It applies whenever freight cost is entered on an order whether that freight cost comes from the expensing of the AP invoice, downloaded from a shipping interface, or manually entered on an order or invoice. The % rate is designated in the Margin for Freight field of the Freight tab in Client Maintenance.

INVOICE OPEN RELEASES AUTOMATICALLY

Additionally, the new Quantum release contains a time saving program to generate invoices automatically from open releases ready to be invoiced. You can leave all selection fields blank to see all releases that are available to be invoiced. You can also narrow your search using the fields available. Once the listed releases are selected, and the Generate button is hit, invoices will be created. If the One Invoice Per Release is checked, is will assign invoices appropriately. Otherwise, one invoice will be created for all releases that can be invoiced together.
